The President, Actors Guild of Nigeria, AGN, Emeka Rollas, during the week took stock of his administration’s one year in office, declaring that they have succeeded in charting a new course for the once troubled guild. Emeka Rollas Rollas emerged the head of the interim government after he defeated Emeka Ike at an election that was organized by the guild’s congress in Enugu about a year ago. In his speech, Rollas listed the numerous achievements of his administration in past one-year, and promised to continue to do his best to move the guild forward.
According to him, “We celebrate the one year in office of this government of National unity. Before we were saddled with the responsibility of governance, the Guild was in total disarray. As we assumed office, we didn’t waste time and we hit the ground running. In 8th months of our administration, we produced the first ever AGN mobile application with payment gateway for dues and new members registration, We introduced the group accident insurance scheme of which over two thousand members have enrolled.” While noting that Nollywood is no longer about appearing on the screen as its now about what comes to you as an actor even after many years of your appearances, Rollas said his administration is pursuing world best standards as proud affiliates of Federation of International Actors, FIA.
